From 1 July 2024 the tolling obligation will be introduced in Germany for vehicles with a technically permissible maximum mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes. This toll applies to vehicles specifically intended for or used for the carriage of goods.

From 1 July 2024 the tolling obligation will be introduced in Germany for vehicles with a technically permissible maximum mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes.
From 1 July 2024 the toll is introduced in Germany for vehicles with a technically permissible maximum mass exceeding 3,5 tonnes. This toll applies to vehicles specifically intended for or used for freight transport.
Until now, Germany has been obliged to pay tolls for vehicles weighing more than 7,5 tonnes. This meant that lorries with a total weight of 7,5 tonnes or less were exempt from toll.
The Maut rates starting from 3.5 tonnes AANZeT at 11.4 cents per kilometre for cleanest Euro 6 class. Transporters will soon have to take into account higher operational costs when driving on German motorways and federal roads.
