British energy company BP is largely withdrawing from the Netherlands.
The group sells its network of approximately 300 service stations and 15 charging stations to branchmate Catom, the parent company of the brand OK. According to both parties, the acquisition must be completed by the end of this year.
According to BP, the sale was motivated by limited growth potential on the Dutch market. The company claims that significant investment would be necessary to expand the business cost-effectively. The capacity of the Dutch electricity grid also played a role in the decision to withdraw.
With the acquisition Catom significantly strengthens its position: **Number of O.R.
service stations** grows from over a hundred to more than 400 locations spread across the country. The acquisition may affect use of your tank cards and associated accounting.
